Ten years ago: I was in the sixth grade, a dork, with fluffy bangs, stupid pants, and oversized t-shirts.

Five years ago: I was a junior in high school, involved in theatre, still a dork, but slightly more normal hair and clothes!

Three years ago: I was in a very bad relationship with an alcoholic, and I was attending beauty school!

One year ago: I was three months into an amazing relationship, and I was working in a salon.

Yesterday: I got a little (or a lot) tipsy with Carly, Michael, and Russ, we spent the evening watching John Waters films and singing along to Led Zeppelin.

Tomorrow: I have to work from 11 to 2, then will most likely spend the rest of the day relaxing!

The new job has been going very well. I started taking tables today, not as many as the other girl, because I am still sort of training, but it went really well. This job is so much better than the last one already!!

I just finished registering for classes for the Fall. I have a pretty fun schedule! I will be taking Drawing, Singing, Art Appreciation, and a web development class! I am excited to get going in them!

Last night Carly and her new boyfriend, Michael came over and we drank some bloody marys, some yummy wine, and I cooked them tacos, while we watched this hilarious John Water's film called A Dirty Shame. Like all his movies, I adored it, and laughed my butt off through out the whole movie. Well towards the end of the night it became apparent that Carly and Michael were a little too sloshed to be driving, so I popped in one of my John Water's movies (we were all into watching his films last night), called Pink Flamingos. For those of you who have no seen it, don't. I am not even sure why I own it. I think I secretly love it, but because it is so disgusting, I will never admit it to myself or anyone. Pink Flamingos is the most disgusting/disturbing movie you will ever see....

Just got back from my first day at work, at the new job! I can't say I love it, that is illegal where I come from, but it sure is a hell of a step up from the other restaurant.

Weird, because I know a lot of people would go in this place and look at it as a step down. The place downtown is fancy, charges a lot for their food, etc, while the new place is so much more layed back, food is cheaper, dress is more casual etc. But hell, what do I care, I think this will be a good job for me!

While I was looking over the menu today, I figured, I might have to drop the vegetarian kick I have been on, because there are so many delicious fried Southern dishes! Maybe I will switch to just eating chicken. That is all I really like as far as meat goes anyway!

On to the business about my new job! Over the course of the time I have worked at old job, I continuously find new things that I dislike about the job, and the man I work for. He is dishonest, rude, and very much takes advantage of his employees.

So yesterday I decided to go look for a new job! I filled out an application for a place near my house, then decided to go drive around San Diego, kind of just to see what was out there. I ultimately wanted to find just a comfortable, mom and pop kind of restaurant to work at.

With no luck, I call Sharise, and we decide to meet up at Souplantation for lunch. As I am parking, I notice a new restaurant next door to Souplantation. It says, Southern food! Holey smokes, I think, this would be an awesome place to work! I look in the window, and what do you know, there is a help wanted sign!!

So I go in and apply, have an immediate interview, and get the job! This place by the looks of it, seems like a perfect place for me! The manager guy even described it as a 'mom and pop' kind of restaurant! Also, no more being hostess shit, he is training me to be a server!!!

So that is that, and I am getting ready to go in there today.

Now I just need to tell the other job I quit....or just stop going (I know I am evil!).

Florida was a good time, though it was not quite what it was supposed to be, due to the hurricane more than half the family could not come, and the few that were there spent the vacation working on cleaning up their houses.

I did get to spend some time with my cousin Sam, because he now lives in Talahassee, so we got to have a lot of fun with him on the beach. My cousin Suzzanah and her boyfriend Cooper came, and we partied a few nights while they were here.

We did go kayaking (sp?) down the Wakulla River, like we do every year (actually we usually canoe, but decided to do kayaking this year) and saw some wild life. The water was brown and murky from the storm, but we did see a bunch of turtles, and huuuge snake (eek!), and the biggest alligator I have ever seen in the wild.

So the trip was nice, we did have some fun. I wish the whole family had been there, but that will happen next year!

Yesterday Ashlee came and picked me up and we went to a bunch of thrift stores. The day was so strange, it was honestly like something out of the Twilight Zone, so many random things kept happening.

At the Salvation Army downtown we were parking and there was this group of about 10 middle aged folks on the sidewalk hanging around a boom box, blasting some terrible hip hop type music. When leaving the store, the group of people were still out there, but this time they were all dancing. Every single one of them, and not just dancing, but flaling their arms around like mad people!

So we are laughing, and drive to the Goodwill a few blocks away, and on the way in we are stopped by a man, and he says to us "Do you ladies happen to have seventy one cents? I'll be quite honest I just need a beer." That wasn't the weird part, but his voice was like some Loony Toons character. It was seriously bizarre.

Well into the Goodwill we go, we are looking around the store, and as we are getting ready to leave we see their is an upstairs, with no sign saying employees only, or anything like that. We go up, and everything was red. Their were seriously racks and racks of miscellaneous clothing, all red. I thought I was going crazy. We never figured out the explanation for that, but it was very odd.

Well after thrifting we go back to my house, and Russ came home from work. We walked to Vons and bought some vodka and tomato juice, and went home and made some delicious bloddy mary's, and watched Harold and Maude (which Ashlee had never seen!). Around nine we went out to the Zombie Lounge, but found it not too terribly entertaining, so left to go to Scolari's because it was karaoke night.

What a great time we had. We had quite a few drinks, but we were just having so much fun all singing along and dancing to the terrible singers. Toward the end of the night Russ got up and sang California Girls. What a great time it was.

I haven't had that much fun at a bar in ages!! I need to go to karaoke more often!!

Wow, this is so true it is scary!

Starving Artist
You are 14% Rational, 14% Extroverted, 14% Brutal, and 57% Arrogant.

You are the Starving Artist! You are more intuitive than logical, and
are primarily guided by your heart and emotions. You are also very
introverted and gentle. Of course, this does not mean that you do not
have an ego. In fact, you are surprisingly arrogant for someone so
emotional and gentle. This is why you are best described as a starving
artist. You are very introspective and quite sure of yourself, as any
accomplished artist is, yet your views are impractical, guided by
feelings, and overly gentle. You probably find math, logic, and similar
intellectual pursuits offensive to your artistic sensibilities, and you
prefer the open-endedness of artistry because then you know you can
never truly have a wrong answer. So really you have no reason to be
arrogant, you big doofus, because the skills you value (emotion,
spirit, art, etc.) in yourself are valuable only on a subjective level,
meaning your arrogance is purely masturbatory. In short, your
personality is defective because you are arrogant, introverted,
introspective, gentle, and thoroughly irrational...posessing most of
the traits needed to be a starving--and useless--artist. So get out
there, write a few short stories that are allegories for the spirit,
and starve!

To put it less negatively:

1. You are more INTUITIVE than rational.

2. You are more INTROVERTED than extroverted.

3. You are more GENTLE than brutal.

4. You are more ARROGANT than humble.

Compatibility:

Your exact opposite is the Capitalist Pig.

Other personalities you would probably get along with are the Haughty Intellectual, the Televangelist, and the Emo Kid.

*

*

If you scored near fifty percent for a certain trait (42%-58%), you
could very well go either way. For example, someone with 42%
Extroversion is slightly leaning towards being an introvert, but is
close enough to being an extrovert to be classified that way as well.
Below is a list of the other personality types so that you can
determine which other possible categories you may fill if you scored
near fifty percent for certain traits.

The other personality types:

The Emo Kid: Intuitive, Introverted, Gentle, Humble.

The Starving Artist: Intuitive, Introverted, Gentle, Arrogant.

The Bitch-Slap: Intuitive, Introverted, Brutal, Humble.

The Brute: Intuitive, Introverted, Brutal, Arrogant.

The Hippie: Intuitive, Extroverted, Gentle, Humble.

The Televangelist: Intuitive, Extroverted, Gentle, Arrogant.

The Schoolyard Bully: Intuitive, Extroverted, Brutal, Humble.

The Class Clown: Intuitive, Extroverted, Brutal, Arrogant.

The Robot: Rational, Introverted, Gentle, Humble.

The Haughty Intellectual: Rational, Introverted, Gentle, Arrogant.

The Spiteful Loner: Rational, Introverted, Brutal, Humble.

The Sociopath: Rational, Introverted, Brutal, Arrogant.

The Hand-Raiser: Rational, Extroverted, Gentle, Humble.

The Braggart: Rational, Extroverted, Gentle, Arrogant.

The Capitalist Pig: Rational, Extroverted, Brutal, Humble.

The Smartass: Rational, Extroverted, Brutal, Arrogant.

I hate when employers abuse their employees.

This has not yet happened to me, but to my coworkers. I will not stand for working 8 days in a row, with some 12 hour shifts, and not get paid overtime, and not be allowed to take a single break.

I will not.

This morning I woke up crying this morning, after having the craziest dream. I dreamt that I was at my grandma's house, my second cousin, Kirk was there, and my dad's cousin was in the kitchen cooking. My grandma was walking around the back patio with a friend talking.

In the dream there was a carnival ride that went through my grandma's house, for whatever reason, and I was riding it, and Kirk was operating the ride. I remember going around and around several times on this ride, that would take me throughout the house, and at one point my grandma came inside and was watching me. I looked at her and for some reason in the dream I knew she was going to die, and was wondering why I was wasting all those precious last moments riding a carnival ride when she was near death.

I hopped off the ride and went and gave her a hug, and she started having a heart attack, or something of that sort (which is not how she died in real life), and she started falling over, so I caught her in my arms, and helped her down so she could lay down, and she told me to tell everyone she loves them very much, and that she will miss them all, and then she died.

At this point my dad's cousin was still in the kitchen cooking, and my cousin Kirk was still operating the ride, and I was upset that no one was really paying attention, so I kicked a chair and my dad's cousin yelled at me for kicking it, and I woke up in tears.

I haven't had a dream as realistic as that was in years. It really scared me a lot. So much of it, even though a lot of the dream was silly (like the carnival ride through the house!!) was so much like how I felt at the time when my grandma passed away.

When I was young my step grandma died, and I had a dream about her not too long after her death. My mom told me that was their way of keeping in touch with you. When I woke up, and after I had dried my tears I felt like it was my job to make sure everyone knows how much my grandma loved them all, and that she is still a part of our lives.

Good news did come today though! My dad's cousin Mark called and told us that Alligator Point in Florida is not as bad as they originally thought, and we are still going!! There is no water and power in some of the houses, but we still have a week until we go, so hopefully it will be fixed.

Knowing I am going to Florida is so important to me, especially after the death of my grandma, I feel like our family has been sort of ripped apart, and I need to see every one. When my great aunt Mimi was here for the funeral, she mentioned something about having a little memorial in Florida, because so many people were unable to make it to the funeral. I am very happy about that, because she is really the single person who brought our family together, and kept our family reunions going for the past ten years.

So work was a little bit better than I would have imagined last night.

Sam from Lord of the Rings (Sean Astin), came in to the restaurant!! He didn't eat there, he had called in a to go order, and I had talked to him on the phone!! He was really, really nice, and told us to pick out three vegitarian dishes for him. A little bit later he came in and picked it all up!

My first day of work, and I see a freakin celebrity!!!

Right now I am getting ready for work. Sigh, dreaded work. This will be my first day there that I won't be training, and I am already miserable. Why can't I just win the lotto or something?!

My mom is leaving to go back up to San Fransisco tomorrow morning, so I had to go say goodbye to her a few hours ago. I wish the family would all just stay in one place. My sister is leaving in a few weeks to go to Berkley, and we just found out this week that my brother got accepted into the college he wanted, out in Massachusets. So that leaves my dad and I.

I thought about moving home, and living in the pool house, since I am a little short on cash these days, but Russ didn't like that idea. Who knows....

I will probably update more later and tell you all about my awful job!!
